Produced annually, the 2018 report contains safety data from 2017 and anonymizes company data that is voluntary and self-reported from individual company OSHA 300 logs. The rates displayed in this report were calculated using the data reported to AWEA from 52 companies. The intent of the report is to create a safety performance benchmark in the wind industry. The report continues to improve qualitatively and quantitatively because of the work of the AWEA Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Subcommittee, the AWEA Safety Data Collection Working Group, and the commitment of wind energy companies to continuously improve worker health and safety in the wind industry. AWEA sincerely thanks its participants for their contribution to the industry data provided in the report.
