While reliability is a 24/7/365 effort, most Americans only think about reliability when the grid fails, therefore, these events can have an outsized influence on energy policy.  As extreme weather events continue to increase in frequency and severity, these unprecedented events will affect the grid’s ability to deliver power consistently and reliably unless we plan a grid that can handle extreme events.  This session, the first of a series of events focused on grid reliability in changing weather and load conditions, will look at how clean electricity resources keep the lights on and discuss any policy changes that are needed to ensure reliability on an increasingly strained grid.
